Scott sign opens up on remake of Ripley!

In the criminal thriller Ripley, the well-known actor from Fleabag and Sherlock is the main character. The Netflix series has been trending since its premiere on April 4! However, Scott did not make the decision to recreate the 1999 movie The Talented Mr. Ripley lightly.
Scott said "Why do this?" as soon as Oscar winner Steve Zaillian, the show's creator, approached the Sherlock star. Given that Patricia Highsmith's beloved work has previously been adapted for the big screen, that is a legitimate question.
Scott was also very clear that he wouldn't sign on to a movie that lacked a distinctive component. “You gotta bring your your own stuff to it or else it's pretty pointless to me,” he said in a media chat.
He accepted Zaillian's explanation of his vision, of course! The main character, Top Ripley, is shown in this adaption as a more sophisticated and complex person. “Zaillian was very clear about the kind of vision that he had for this version of the story,” Scott revealed.
“I think what's fascinating and enduring about this character is that he's sort of like water. There's a fluidity to him that we can't quite put our finger on. For that reason, he holds a sort of power over us,” he further revealed.
